ALMOST ALL THE GREATS ARE GONE
Yesterday Andy Griffith died in Carolina. I suppose there will be many more “greats” as the years pass but they will come and go without ever having the admiration and respect of the greats who lived during the 1940s 50 and a few in the 1960s.
I suppose (in time) everyone has to die but each time one of these legends passes-on a small portion of my/our childhood dies with them. I find it strange when the tonight show comes on every week night that I have no idea who the damn guests even are; never heard of a one of them. I cannot recognize even one of their names.
Sometimes sadness is just the way life was meant to be. But, we must smile always remember that the ride along the way was well worth it.
I suppose what is most disappointing is what I see on televison today. I am not sure how many more people they can pull out from under a slimmy rock and televise to our children. I knew there was a bunch of total idiots out there in the world but I never thought in a million years THAT THEY WOULD BE (SO CALLED) TELEVISION STARS. Got to go time for me to puke again before I turn on the TV this evening.
