Over the weekend, a report surfaced claiming that Jennifer Aniston was upset she and Justin Theroux didn't get engaged on their recent European vacation, and she was worried that he would never propose. But is she actually the one who put the kibosh on an engagement?
According to OK! (via Gossip Cop), Justin did propose while they were in Europe -- but Jennifer "said no"! He supposedly asked her "to spend the rest of her life with him," but she "turned him down!"
Why would Jennifer turn down a marriage proposal?
"She feels like she only got the proposal because she pushed for it," an "insider" dishes to the mag. "She doesn't want a guy marrying her because he feels some sort of pressure."
And if OK!'s report is to be believed, Justin felt a lot of pressure. Apparently Jennifer began the trip "expecting him to pop the question, especially when they were at the Eiffel Tower," but "when it didn't happen Jen got upset, so they started bickering" (because nagging a guy into proposing is a great idea). Eventually Justin saw "he'd made a huge mistake by not realizing that Jen was expecting a proposal," so while they were in Rome he "totally shocked her and proposed."
Jennifer supposedly started crying and "told him she loves him and wants to marry him, but she couldn't say yes. She wants everything to feel right, not rushed," OK!'s snitch says.
"A source close to Theroux" tells Gossip Cop that OK!'s report is "false," which it likely is. The tabloids have had a field day with Jennifer and Justin's vacation, variously reporting that the two were using the trip to save their relationship, scout wedding venues in Paris, argue over Brad Pitt, bone in the Blue Grotto -- and now this. But now that the tabloids have pretty much run out of stories to make up about their European vacation, they'll probably go back to reporting that Jennifer is pregnant and/or plotting some kind of revenge against Angelina Jolie.
What do you think? Did Justin Theroux propose? Did Jennifer Aniston turn him down? Sound off in the comments!
