It really wasn't in my game plan, but as I saw the crowd of people forming across the street outside my living room window, I decided to venture out. It's the town's annual week-long celebration held prior to the July 4th holiday. I only had $10 on me, so when I got to the ticket selling table, I opted to spend it on food, and not raffle tickets.
So I headed for the Budweiser truck, & bought a beer, which I never drink, but figured it would help me handle the crowd of people...better. I also bought a hamburger w/ coleslaw, pizza, & an ice cream sundae, most of which I brought back to the house~not bad for $10, right?!!?
Anyhoo, I roamed around, sipping my beer & eating pizza~there was a band, and I sat & listened for awhile...had a cigarette. As the event started winding down, and I meandered thru the crowd, I noticed the local police information table. Well, given my last interaction with the local police, I Just Got Stopped By The Cops! I stopped, and thought, hmm, should I? Of course, I answered myself, "Yeah, you should," and walked the 30 ft. over to the table with conviction. Here's what transpired:
Me: Got anything good for me?
Cop: Unintelligible (hearing problem), gathering a bunch of pamphlets chuckling.
Me: Yeah, I still remember being wiped across the station floor...(he was 1 of the cops involved)
Cop: More chuckling, as he handed me the pamphlets.
Me: Thanx, this could be used as evidence.
Cop: More chuckling...
