Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be quite the item, with the reality TV show diva quietly recently admitting their longstanding friendship and successful new romantic relationship to Oprah Winfrey. He even apparently has earned a stamp of approval from the family, including the tell-it-like-it-is Khloe Kardashian-Odom. But Kim is still dealing with the rather unfortunate consequences of her last, short-lived love story with soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries, as the divorce drama continues. So can it really be true that she and West are already thinking about a wedding--and a televised one, at that?!
She told Oprah that, this time around, she would strive to be more protective of her romance with her rapper beau and not show and tell all via series like Keeping up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York. So another made-for-TV wedding, should West put a ring on it, seems out of the question.
Not so, according to a new report on Hollywood Life. While Kim Kardashian may be more in favor of keeping her "Kimye" relationship under wraps, an insider has revealed that Kanye West may be the one who wants to go big--and better.
"Kanye wouldn't be opposed to having a huge TV wedding," admitted a source. "He'd do it just to prove his wedding to Kim would get way more viewers than Prince William's wedding." If this is even true, it seems he should first and foremost be more concerned that it would get more viewers than Kim and Kris' special.
Nevertheless, it's an ironic statement from this so-called source, as Kim's extravagant walk down the aisle with Humphries last August was also likened to a royal nuptials of sorts--albeit one of the reality TV empire.
It also seems to be a rather unattractive, ego-driven thing on the part of Kanye West--that is, again, if this insider is reliable--especially when the main focus of a wedding should be a couple's love, rather than fame and outdoing royalty.
The source did seem to be more on point with the admission that an engagement, a diamond ring and all the rest are "so not on [Kanye's] mind right now... He's just dating her." That's probably a good thing, as taking it slow and putting romance before ratings might work best in this case.
