In a recent interview, Justin Bieber dished on his new gruelling work out routine. Is it to impress Selena Gomez? Probably. And why not? He rented the entire Staples Center for her just so they could watch Titanic all alone together. More recently, he rented a helicopter just to give her a super scenic ride from Toronto to his home town, Stratford, Ontario. And he wrote a sweet, super romantic song for her called "Be Alright" which he included in his Believe album. So why not go whole hog and develop the kind of manly physique she's rumored to admire? Unfortunately for the Biebs, that might not be as easily done as writing songs or renting planes and stadiums.
"I've started working out more and getting a bit heavier," Justin explained. "I'm just staying fit and active, and want to be strong physically and mentally. It's good for touring. You've got to have agility.''
Good for touring. Right. Whatever. The bottom line is that although he's been chinning and doing pull ups religiously, Justin says he tires easily and has yet to get into the kind of shape he's aiming for. His fitness regimen seems to have hit a plateau--an annoying but common occurrence that he's trying to remedy by running.
''I also do pull-ups and chin-ups," admits JB. "I can do about 25 in a row. I do need to run more, I get tired easily. 'My cardio isn't what it should be.''
Poor Justin Bieber. How is that possible? He's only 18 years old and super lean--although his slight physique is obviously one of the things he wants to improve. Still, he shouldn't be huffing and puffing a few yards out from the starting gate. Perhaps he should clean up his diet.
As for La Gomez, hopefully, she appreciates all this.
Stay tuned.
