Mike leaves for Minnesota today, and Angela leaves tomorrow for Knoxville. Me being sick and out of it was not suppose to be an option. Things are a disaster her right now, but once I get both of my people out the door, I'll be happier.
1). Beautician's Day: This holiday is your chance to show your appreciation to those who make you look beautiful and stunning. Beauticians include your hair stylist, as well as manicurists. Their talents and training transforms the everyday you into the beautiful woman you always knew was inside of you. I'll have to facebook Mama Cher and wish her a happy one. She cuts Angela's hair (and mine on occasion).
2). Forgiveness Day: It's a time to forgive and to be forgiven. The world will be a better place for this day, hopefully. Hey, what more can I say about this one?
3). America's Kids Day: This holiday is to reach out and teach children in America the value of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. A time to help kids learn about the great nation that they live in; adults can help them learn by demonstrating what it means to be an American. What a great way to get ready for the upcoming 4th of July!
4). International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: This holiday has a website. By resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987, the General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
5). International Day in Support of Victims of Torture: This holiday is held annually on 26 June to speak out against the crime of torture and to honor and support victims and survivors throughout the world. It doesn't matter if the victim is an adult, teen, or child. The day was selected by the United Nations General Assembly for two reasons. First, on 26 June 1945, the United Nations Charter was signed – the first international instrument obliging UN members to respect and promote human rights. Second, 26 June 1987 was when the United Nations Convention against torture came into effect.
Have a great Tuesday!
