Zayn Malik and Niall Horan tested their boy band knowledge during a recent interview, and the One Direction singers definitely proved that they know who the Backstreet Boys are.
Niall is obviously into BSB since he attended one of their concerts and got to meet the guys backstage, but apparently R&B fan Zayn has also studied up on some of their songs—he was able to sing "I Want It That Way" with Niall, and the guys harmonized perfectly.
Niall and Zayn were playing a game where they were asked to listen to bits of other boy bands' songs. They then had to sing the next lines of the tunes.
Before the game Zayn Malik revealed that he's a big fan of 'N Sync and loves Justin Timberlake—this makes sense because JT was also really into R&B (but hopefully Zayn doesn't leave One Direction to bring sexy back and become a movie star).
Before busting out with "I Want It That Way," they missed the BBMak song "Back Here," and self-described 'N Sync fan Zayn probably felt a little embarrassed after not figuring out the lyric for "I Want You Back." But he and Niall Horan redeemed themselves by nailing All-4-One's "I Swear."
When asked what the guys were going to do on their upcoming week off, both of them revealed that they're going to go home to spend some time with their family and friends. Directioners will be relieved that Zayn didn't mention Perrie Edwards, but he's probably still looking forward to seeing his girlfriend.
Zayn also revealed that he might have his mom cook up samosas, his favorite food. Unfortunately for Directioners, they're nothing like carrots because they actually take some time to make, so they might not be the best food to throw at One Direction in hopes of impressing the guys.
Since Zayn Malik and Niall Horan showed that they're big Backstreet Boys fans, perhaps the guys need to record a BSB song. 1D is reportedly going to collaborate with Justin Bieber soon, so here's a fun idea—a mashup of BSB's "As Long As You Love Me" and the Biebs' "As Long As You Love Me."
