Chicago took a huge hit when All-Star point guard Derrick Rose went down with an injury during the NBA Playoffs and the fact he could miss most of the 2012-13 season while rehabbing is a problem the front office needs to work out this summer.
Here are the latest rumors and suggestions from Bleacher Report writer Paul Grossinger on players that could help the Bulls in their quest for a title.
Ray Allen is a short-term solution and a player that Chicago needs to look at this summer. The veteran shooting guard had a bit of a down year this past season, but he has the leadership skills and experience to help this team while they wait for Rose to return.
Courtney Lee from Houston is another option and one that would help for a more long-term approach. Lee is a decent offensive player, but his defensive skills fit right into the schemes the coaches for the Bulls run. Lee is a restricted free agent, but Houston has enough talent at small forward and shooting guard that they could let him walk if the asking price gets too high.
Chicago has had the best record in the NBA for the last two years and that needs to carry over into the playoffs, but until they add another leader, this team will struggle, especially if Rose is side-lined for the entire year, so look for the front office to make the changes necessary to keep this team competitive and in-line for a title next season.
