While Aviva Drescher lives it up with rich friends and enjoys a fabulously wealthy lifestyle on The Real Housewives of New York City, she's claiming that thanks to her ex-husband's lack of financial contribution, her son doesn't even have health insurance.

She's locked in a bitter dispute and war of words with ex Harry Dubin, the father of 10-year-old Harrison. She's claiming that he owes her $294,372 in child support and $50,000 in private school and summer camp fees.
"I am very sad that this father has abandoned his son. I empathize with all women and children who have been hurt by deadbeat dads," she told the New York Post.
Indeed, a court order was issued in May ordering Harry Dubin to pay up the $294,372. According to him however, that doesn't mean that he's a deadbeat dad since the amount isn't really made up of missed child support payments. "The majority of that was a legal bill, which is obscenely enormous. If Aviva wants to utter untruths about me, she'll have to live with that for the rest of her life, but I will not discuss my son in public," he responded.
In addition to the above amounts, the Housewife is claiming that there's an extra $80,000 owed since he hasn't paid any child support for at least a year. The lack of payments has apparently put her in such a bind that her son is having to do without one of the basic necessities of life in the states: health insurance.
"Even if Harry is bitter about the divorce, his son shouldn't have to suffer. He has no health insurance," she said.
While Harry Dubin should definitely pay whatever amount he's been ordered by the court, it's odd that Aviva Drescher's son wouldn't have health insurance. After all, she's remarried to a wealthy businessman worth millions of dollars. Plus, her paycheck from appearing on The Real Housewives of New York City should be more than enough to get him some coverage. Yet she's claiming that her deadbeat ex has put her in such a financial bind that her son has no health insurance? If her son really has no health insurance, it seems that she's just doing it on purpose to have something to hold against her ex.

Is this woman brain dead? EVERY child in the U.S. is eligible for health insurance. If the family makes too much money to get on Medicaid, the child can be covered by the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Obviously she won't qualify if she's buying Prada bags and Gucci scarves, but if she seriously can't get it for him, they will cover it.
