Fifty Shades of Grey has quickly become the book to read this summer vacation, and not only in the United States. In fact, the popular erotic romance novel (that began as Twilight fan fiction—eww!) has become the fastest selling paperback in the United Kingdom, ever, after debuting on shelves this past week!
The blush-inducing first book of the E.L. James trilogy has sold over 100,000 copies this week alone, breaking records that not even the British-born Harry Potter could break!
Though most books debut in hardcover as opposed to paperback, like Fifty Shades of Grey has, the record-breaking sales are still meaningful, especially considering the erotic subcategory of the book. Though traditional, Fabio-model-clad romance novels have become passé in recent years, women everywhere (and now in the United Kingdom) can be seen out in public deeply engrossed in the book, looking more than a little flushed.
Will the next Fifty Shades book break the newly set record? Do you have a copy of your own?

nobody ever went bankrupt underestimating the taste of the bestseller reading public. The best stuff never makes it to that list, or flirts with it maybe one week.
