The Bachelorette with Emily Maynard will air an all-new episode tonight, and now there is more news from behind the scenes. New reports have surfaced that the reality star is battling her daughter's grandparents over Ricki's appearance on the reality dating series. This is not the first time since the season began that these claims have been made, and they were denied the last time they popped up.
Ricki's grandparents are from the father's side of the family, and these reports claim that they aren't happy with Ricki being used for the series. A source said the following, according to The New York Daily News:
"When Emily went on 'The Bachelor,' they weren't pleased, but they supported her. Now they're not speaking. They don't want their grandchild in the spotlight. They are private people."
Emily Maynard was asked to become The Bachelorette before this season, but she turned the offer down because she feared the impact it would have on Ricki. She only decided to go on the series once her concerns were addressed.
Is Emily fighting with Ricky Hendricks' parents? Early reports about the feud were quickly denied, but now they have surfaced once again. It would be understandable if Ricki's grandparents are unhappy about the situation. Emily is handling her daughter the best way that she can with the situation. She is a single mother, and she realizes her daughter would be a factor no matter which man she decides on at the end of the season.
What do you think? Was it right for Emily to feature Ricki on this season of The Bachelorette?
