Blake Lively Never Heard of '50 Shades of Grey,' Even With Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Connection?

Blake Lively may cut quite the style-forward, charismatic and downright attractive profile as Upper East Side girl-about-town, Serena van der Woodsen, on the hit CW show, Gossip Girl. And the leggy blonde may be also making waves, as she's dating her own real-life hottie, Ryan Reynolds. But the pretty fashionista has been under the covers—literally—when it comes to a certain hot piece of fiction heating up the gossip columns: 50 Shades of Grey. Even though her fellow CW network stars the likes of The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have been rumored to be in the running for the movie version of the provocative read, she recently revealed she's never even heard of it! Say what?!

It seems rather unbelievable, as the risqué book has been all the buzz lately. But when questioned during a press day for her upcoming movie, Savages, about whether it was on her reading list, Lively admitted she was in the dark, even asking, "What's that?"

The actress, 24, must be super-busy, jetting around promoting her new movie and spending time with Reynolds to miss a newsmaker like E.L. James' Grey—especially when the names of her acting colleagues, including everyone from those TVD stars to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and Selena Gomez, have been bandied about for the lead roles.

Strange as it may seem, it's kind of cool and refreshing in a way that Blake Lively hasn't heard about the tome. There probably aren't too many left in the entertainment industry who haven't!

And, as Celebuzz reminds, even Lively herself has a good deal of fan support to be cast as Kate Kavanagh in the flick. Kavanagh is the protagonist Anastasia Steele's best friend. "How sweet! I don't know about it but thank you!" Lively responded after learning about it.

Given her racy role as Ophelia, a woman caught in a love triangle between marijuana growers, in Savages, she obviously has the experience to carry off a part in 50 Shades of Grey. She may want to download it on her Kindle or pick up a copy of the book stat!
