After some quiet months, it seems interest in Kris Humphries has picked up from NBA teams. With the season winding down, can the big man put the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West nonsense behind him?
Humphries may ditch Kim for Philadelphia 76ers through NBA free agency
For once, the City of Brotherly Love might live up to its name in the sports sense. In a town notorious for its brutal fan base, one athlete might see Philadelphia as a new home if NBA free agency tilts his way. That is what former Brooklyn Nets forward Humphries hopes for anyway. The 26-year old comes off the best season of his pro-life and any team who watches tape will know he brings size and effort to the floor. With a young roster in place the Philadelphia 76ers need help in the front court. The problem is the team doesn't have enough salary cap for any major moves. That's why Humphries could make sense for them. Given his personal history with the Kardashian mess, he might come cheaper than a player of his caliber would without the tag of distraction. This move would give the 76ers insurance against losing two of their core players to free agency and allow them to focus on picking talent in the upcoming draft. It's likely music to the ears of Humphries who would love moving to playoff team especially if star point guard Deron Williams leave Brooklyn too. A bigger question is will he escape his demons with the move?
Kim keeps up Humphries bashing by raving to Oprah about Kanye
She never actually mentioned Humphries but Kim Kardashian knew what fans would think when she told iconic talk show host Oprah about her new boyfriend Kanye West. Not only is his success as a rapper a bonus but that he is three years older than her has shown Kim the mistakes she kept making of dating younger men like Humphries and Reggie Bush. She went on to say how much she has grown since the split and claims she had an "epiphany" after her marriage fell apart. While the harsher shots were left out for respect of the audience, it seems Kim hasn't eased up in finding ways to make sure her former husband sees how happy she is. It's the kind of bad exposure that can ruin Humphries' chances of getting a new contract. Few teams want that kind of problem, much less know how to deal with it.
Kris Humphries has already gotten some interest from the Philadelphia 76ers. Logic says more teams may come forward when NBA free agency starts. Whether Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have more shots ready on Oprah is still not clear.
