Gather helps me with so many things, so I thought I would take this one to you. I have a friend who is blind and she needs a job. There are so many jobs she cannot do because she is blind, but do you have any ideas as to jobs she can do?
I really want to help her.

We have a non-profit organization, The Combined Disabilities Association. Is there an equivalent there? They provide resources aimed at getting such persons employed, including information on training for any who wishes. The USAID and several corporate entities are sponsors.
There is a music band called Unique Vision. The band leader is sighted and doubles as the band leader for another band, Fab 5. They play in concerts here but have not recorded any hits, but membership in that band has given them enough exposure for at least two to have advanced. One is now a very popular member of Fab 5 and another has decided to launch a solo career.
So blind persons can try music lessons, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Andrea Boticelli are all blind. They can try writing. Classes aren't restricted to the sighted. A few years ago, a blind Jamaican earned his Bachelors Degree.
Before he had the client questions done in braille so that he could ask them himself, I went in a few times and did those for him for a little pay.
He actually does the questions and answers both on his braille machine now.
Not much help, I know, but maybe there is the same type of agency where she lives?
