The Challenge for Thursday June 14, 2012 is to "Give Advice To Fellow Travelers Beginning The Journey"
The best advice I gave that little pipsqueak of a bluebird when she decided to travel the Gather writing road alone, came from me. Did she listen? Noooooo. At least not until she posted that last piece and only received about 10 comments.
Her mother told her to always wear clean underthings in case she got in an accident. Did she listen? Yesssss. Good thing because that accident was no small deal. Here’s’ what happened.
Pam tried to grab hold of an old lady’s arm. The old lady was trying to cross a busy street. She was slowly walking with the aid of a cane. Pam told old lady Grady to take her advice and hold her hand. Old lady Grady told her what was what. She said she needed no help and demanded Pam leave her alone. At that time, the street light said ‘walk’ and the old lady was walking. Pam was persistent, so the old lady smacked her with her cane, flattening Pam and putting a bump on her noggin.
Pam was stubborn and told the old lady to take her advice and let her help. The old lady bonked Pam on the head again and crossed the street to safety on the other side.
Pam was dazed and could barely make out the street light. It was red and flashing. While she focused on it, a bus ran over her.
