My Culture
Today I read about an NYC school principal who ordered a patriotic song removed from a kindergarten graduation program. She has single-handedly banned Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" all because she said, “…..so it would not offend other people’s cultures!†I am an American citizen of the United Sates of America. This IS MY culture…! If my nation’s culture, any part of it offends someone from another nation/culture than too damned bad..! (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/shva=1#inbox/137e3ab6c51d072b)
I worked all over the world in my chosen field. I watched what I said, did & was very careful not to “see†many things that I did see because I was not in my nation but a guest in another nation. Were my feelings regarded? No…! Not usually..! I am respectful of other culture’s/nation’s patriotic songs, national anthems, etc. I expect them to be the same in my nation. If they have immigrated here to live then they had better put aside their old culture by replacing with my culture. If that offends them then I say, “Too damned bad..! Go back where you came from and follow your culture’s ways..!â€
Â
Why must we, U.S.citizens change what we do in our own nation? The answer to that is, WE MUST NOT…! In RussiaI stood up for & uncovered my head for their national anthem. In UkraineI did the same, also in Germany, Turkey, Israel, India, Japan, Australia, etc. Now I am not asking….I AM TELLING………ALL of you visitors to the USA, all immigrants to the USA, all tourists here from other nations, and anyone else that gets offended by this piece, gets offended by my nation’s patriotic songs, etc., get the Hell out of my nation if you cannot and will not respect it, its culture and its people!

Just my guess. :)
My sons are older now but they grew up with the schools they attended excluding all songs that mentioned a god. Which is why I am "assuming" the school you mention did the same thing. If that is the case I am also pretty sure it wasn't the principles call.
