Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged, with quite the Neil Lane diamond ring to seal the deal. And while their impending marriage has raised a good many questions (are they too young; what do their friends and family think; when is the wedding; and who will be there?), there is another big unknown that has captured the attention of fashionistas and style watchers everywhere: The Dress. What will Cyrus, 19, who is rather infamous for her scantily clad, braless and hippie-messy moments, wear on her big day to surprise Hemsworth, 22?
Perhaps she'll go bohemian breezy in a casual chic dress; or still maybe she will be fairy-tale fabulous via an extravagant ball gown; or it's possible the singer-actress will take the glam and sophisticated route. A few noted bridal designers have offered up their own fantasy versions of a Miley Cyrus wedding dress and their options are certainly gorgeous, yet extremely different from each other.
Celebuzz has posted some of the designers' lovely sketches, and Ines Di Santo's confection is certainly star-worthy and perhaps even Miley-like. It boasts figure-hugging, mermaid silhouette that leads to a multitiered, cascading train with a statement floral detail and an avant-garde asymmetrical bodice. Says Di Santo, "Miley has always chosen elegant and classic gowns for her red carpet appearances. I see her choosing a style that expresses her personal style and fashionable taste but still keeping it elegant and tasteful."
Indeed, hopefully Miley Cyrus has frequently stunned on the red carpet in chic exits, frequently surprising her style naysayers. Hopefully, she continues that trend and keeps it classy, eschewing any of her more provocative sartorial selections for her wedding. Think "haute" not hot!
Another beautiful option comes from Val Stefani who created a gown that "complements the more whimsical and bohemian style that matches [Miley's] casual country aesthetic while mixing in elements like cut-outs and lace that reflect the more sophisticated style she has been rocking lately on the red carpet."
Stefani's sketch is stunning; the column gown is sleek with its slim silhouette, statement shoulder detail, floral embroidery and peek-a-boo waist that shows just a bit of skin. It's a combination of elegance and edginess... just like Cyrus! She could definitely pull off this gown!
Celebuzz has more options that have been offered up by designers—some could be seen on Cyrus and some seem far too simple and traditional to stand up to her trendsetting taste—and that sparkling rock on her finger.
