American Idol 2012 winner Phillips Phillips has made Idol history by hitting 278,000 downloads of “Home†and debuting at No 2. on the Hot Digital Songs chart. “Home†had the second-best digital sales week for any Idol contestant, debuting just slightly lower than Kelly Clarkson‘s “My Life Would Suck Without You†with 280,000 downloads in 2009.
Phillip Phillips’ “Home†also nabbed the record for the most downloaded song after an American Idol finale, beating out David Cook‘s finale song “The Time of My Life†from season 7. “Home†was also the fourth highest debut of the year so far behind Justin Bieber, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry.
