PAX East: The Convention Begins
Â
When last we left off, Scott and I had settled into the PAX East convention and were helping Dave out with the Lightweight RPG booth. We eventually wandered off to do some exploring of the rest of the convention!
But first, we saw some Ghostbusters!

Cosplaying-- dressing up like characters-- is a big thing at events like this. There were a lot of costumes all weekend, ranging from obscure ones to really awesome elaborate ones.
I particularly liked the packs on the Ghostbusters' backs-- they even lit up!

Anyway, we wandered off. We started out in the game area. We tested out a new dice-based game that will be coming out, called Chupacabra, and that was fun. (I won!) Then we looked at the other tabletop games for sale before heading into the main expo floor, where all of the video game companies and such had their booths.

It was quite crowded and full of video games to test out.
Also, there was a tank.

Scott made friends.
We also ended up finding the booth for some indie games that Scott has played before. He sat down, with the creator of the game watching (in awe!) and got the high score for a game called Super Crate Box.

We also found the booth with all the Nyan Cat stuff ;)

No, I didn't buy anything there, though I wanted to!
Scott also had reason to make his excited face...

Why, you ask?
Well, for the table covered in an elaborate miniature setup.

We eventually returned to the Lightweight booth, where Scott ran a playtest of the game for some people.

During it, he needed a cart for the characters to use. So he made one, from a napkin and a binder clip.

As you can also see in that photo, there is an Easter egg. The convention actually took place over Easter weekend.
That's all for this photoessay, but I have about a million more photos, so stay tuned for the next one!
