The GOP hates Obama Care, but it seems only because it comes from Obama.
The irony, Republicans first came up with that plan back in the day as a reaction to "Hillary Care", (then it was "Dole Care"?) and have nothing to replace it with now, as if its existing as Obama Care is now the only problem, not America's health care being unaffordable for too many, in general, being a problem.
If it's struck down will Obama call for Universal Health Care, then (what will be his plan B?)? Will Romney have his own plan, or just gloat? I can't imagine the Supreme Court voting against the Health Insurance Industry, though. The Health Insurance Industry is too big and they don't want to go away (wouldn't Universal Health Care wipe them off the map?)
Americans need reminded of how 100% partisan Congress was from day one. GOP Congressmen who supported Dole Care were instantly totally against the copycat Obama Care, and also how Blue Dog Dems really vote for corporations first.
How do you think the Supreme Court's vote will go? Could a "no" vote possibly end up leading to U.S. health care being more "socialist" as Universal Health Care, as apposed to the Obama Care that keeps it all in the private sector?
Making all people who can afford it buy health insurance is in question, legally, but the alternative (not paying for it but getting it when you need it anyway) is bankrupting the system, as it drives up cost in the meantime.
Anybody have a Plan C that would make the GOP happy so they have something they can go along with, and we can move forward on this issue?

Parts of "Obama Care" need to be preserved.
The "Dole Plan" was not identical to "Obama Care".
The Republicans in Congress at that time were not the same individuals as those in Congress currently.
If the Supreme Court declares the private insurance mandate unconstitutional, it's anybody's guess as to what happens to the rest of the program, especially since parts have already been implemented.
Some of the same Congressmen were involved (some were old-timers) and they just joined the "JUST SAY NO TO OBAMA" pack. Olympia Snowe tried not to be lock step but she got destroyed for it.
Stop having wars and legalize Marriwanna (sorry for the spelling) and tax the crap out of it.
BTW, doing so will save court and prison costs.
Then the government will have tons of money.
To feed the poor, pay farmers to GROW food.
Pay for health care but pay the good doctors to stay.
And for cripes sake STOP out-sourcing! Think of all the jobs it would bring back here! No wonder this country has so many out of work.
Dear Peter, thank you for letting me rant!
As an American/Canadian I can honestly say the major reason we can't move back to the states to live out our retirement in the USA is the cost of health care in the US. We've been in Canada 26 years. (So there is no going back to our old insurance company) In those 26 years we have not had to pay a Doctor's bill. We had to buy our drugs, and pay for eyeglasses and the dentist but from colds. flu. broken bones and surgery Ontario pays all my medical/hospital bills. Now that I'm a Senior Citizen I pay $4.11 for a prescription, and nothing to see the eye doctor - My dentist and the cost of eye glasses is not included in the senior benefits.
How does Canada pay those bills for me. Sin Tax. Our gas prices are higher (if you are lucky enough to drive a car you can afford and extra dollar for the government. Our booze prices are higher, our government protects Canadian farmers so Chicken, Beef and most meats cost more. Cigarettes are pricier than gold (as they should be seeing the government is going to make dying easier for you smokers in the end) and our income taxes are higher than yours. I'm sure there are others but off the top of my head - I figure you get the picture.
The US could do all of the above but heaven forbid the richer might need to pay more...
