'The Vampire Diaries' Season 4 Spoilers: Bonnie's Magic and Family

The Vampire Diaries season 3 ended with Bonnie performing a spell to save her friends—and that means Klaus is going to be spending some time in Tyler's body. Bonnie went through quite a lot last season. Will that continue in season 4, or could she take what's happened and use it to do something for herself?

Vampire Diaries Season 4

As the resident witch of the group, Bonnie's often called upon to work her magic when they need a spell to fix something or keep something from happening. There has been speculation that this could happen in season 4 and they could turn to her to try to make Elena human again. If that does happen, you can't help but think that would be some pretty powerful magic that she'd have to tap into, and that could mean anything could happen to Bonnie as the season progresses.

But what does Kat Graham hope to see in The Vampire Diaries season 4? She told TV Guide (below), "I am actually very excited that she's taking a stand for herself and it's also interesting that that's coming at a time where she's having to struggle with 'dark magic,' and I don't know if that's going to peep its head in again in season 4 or if that's something that they just played with." It seems like something they'd have to at least touch on at some point, even if it's just to plant the seeds for something they'll return to later. It seems like it should only be a question of when it happens, not if, and how serious it becomes. After all, there's plenty of time for them to address it if they want—even if it's just to have Bonnie make a stand against dark magic and show that she won't go down that path.

Graham also is hoping that "they maybe explore her relationship with her father." Things haven't been easy for Bonnie in terms of family, and it could make for a good storyline to explore what things are like for her and her father. She also said, "I'm never opposed to being a villain in a series if it's justified." If, say, for instance, she does end up going down that road and doesn't turn against it, could they end up pointing back to the spell she performed for Klaus as a catalyst, or will they go back further? If Bonnie does become a villain on the show, it could be fun to see what that means with Elena as a vampire. Things are certainly going to be different in Mystic Falls in season 4. Finally, Graham did say that Klaus "owes Bonnie a big favor." While that's not necessarily something that will come up in the show, it is something that could be fun to see happen.
