Kylie Jenner may have not had the Keeping up with the Kardashians group around her at a recent Beverly Hills birthday party, as sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian were missing in action (even Kendall Jenner seemed to have sat this one out—or wasn't invited!), but the bash was still ironically rooted in "reality"—of the Real Housewives sort, that is. (But don't worry, this time it was all G-rated.) Plus, Kylie had her rumored boyfriend, the adorable blond, Australian pop star, Cody Simpson, there to keep her company.
She may be a blossoming model, a TV star and now a Seventeen magazine West Coast contributor, but Kylie is, perhaps above all else, still just a 14-year-old girl. While her super-tight, sometimes revealing and often-sexy looks, rocked during red-carpet outings, avant-garde photo shoots and promotional appearances, belie her early teenage years, she can act (and dress!) her age, too. And she did just that at a weekend b-day celebration for Disney's Pair of Kings star, Ryan Ochoa, who was turning the big 1-6.
Swapping the sultry, stylish frocks and the Kim Kardashian-favored Christian Louboutin stilettos for an adorable sherbet-colored skirt and white top, Kylie Jenner looked fashionable and girly and age appropriate, as she rode around on a scooter—barefoot to boot! The breezy silk outfit was chic and fun and obviously played to the party's Polynesian theme. Kylie's boy Cody played along, too, with a casual suit and flower-printed sneakers. Real men (or boys) can wear floral!
The Kardashian "klan" and their E! cameras may have been out of the picture at this little shindig, but ironically it wasn't far from another network's reality world. Bravo's Real Housewives on Beverly Hills' Adrienne Maloof hosted the affair at her impressive home, where she apparently pulled out all the stops. As Daily Mail reports, guests learned a native Polynesian dance, watched a fire show and danced, all fueled by festive punch—non-alcoholic, naturally.
To borrow Katy Perry's words, talk about a "teenage dream" of a party!
