We planned on having a garage sale all this weekend and things got off to a great start, but then sort of tanked.
Friday morning we got everything set out and waited around for the shoppers. I had made $25 before we were even set up off one guy and as the day went on it was slow but steady. we made about $75-80 bucks and called it a day and got ready for the next day.
Well saturday got off to a rough start due to rain and by the time we got everything set up and sat around for about an hour it was raining again. So we just called it quits for the day considering we had only sold $2 so far...And by the end of the day the forecast was looking grim so we called it quits all together. Pulled the signs up and said "next time"
But all of that stuff isn't to just take up residence in my garage now! not now that i finally have it clean enough to be useful.
My parents sub-division is having a "sub wide sale" in the coming weeks so everything will just get transferred over there. Not much of it is big so it shouldn't be much of a problem and then whatever doesn't sell over there (aside from the few things i want to keep still...) will get donated or free cycled or maybe craigs list for some of the bigger stuff.
So all in all i'm not too disappointed. i made $75 bucks from stuff i didnt need anymore and i freed up some space in my home and garage in the process...not bad i guess.
