Rihanna and ex Chris Brown and his girlfriend Karrueche Tran's Twitter-fueled love triangle, which saw everything from racy photos to pretty provocative and controversial posts, seems to be finally over (although Tran just recently put up a pic of some PDA between her and Breezy). RiRi has seemingly "split up" from Brown—again, which is probably in her best interest. That aside, what really was the final straw for the "We Found Love" singer, who has obviously given her former boyfriend way too many chances. An insider has come forward with some new details on the break-up. Hint: That love triangle? Apparently Brown was a fan and wanted both Tran and RiRi by his side.
"Chris was not willing to end his relationship with Karrueche, even though he made Rihanna believe that he was still madly in love with her," the source revealed, according to Hollywood LIfe. "Chris is the one who initially reached out to her at the beginning, telling her how much he missed her, how Karrueche could not even compare to her, how he wanted to make things work."
A likely story, now that the real truth has come out. The insider confirmed that, while Chris Brown may have wanted to get back with RiRi, he was unwilling to break things off with Karrueche Tran. "Rihanna would have gone back to Chris, but once she realized that he still had so many anger issues and that he was never planning on leaving Karrueche, she pulled the plug on the relationship. Chris basically wanted to have his cake and eat it too," the source said.
Speaking of cake, Hollywood Life reminds that RiRi certainly tried to make things work with Brown, as they even released the "Birthday Cake" remix. But it looks like neither of the entertainer's wishes came true and that they have blown out the candles once and for all on any romance.
While there are always at least two sides to any story, this particular perspective certainly puts Chris Brown, 23, in the category of quite the loser who still seems to have little respect for women.
"She has moved on once and for all," affirmed a friend of the singer-actress. RiRi has reportedly said before that she's all about female empowerment and feeling confident in herself, as a way to explain those risqué, skin-baring looks she frequently wears. So perhaps she has finally extended that "if you've got it, flaunt it" view into her relationships, refusing to play second fiddle and be disrespected. If so, that definitely deserves a standing ovation.
