Yes, I know I’m late today. I slept in and I mean really slept in. We had storms last night that kept me awake. I’m thankful for the rain however. I don’t know how much we got but we needed it badly. I looked in on the Decorah eaglets this morning and they were soaked so must have had rain this morning.
Pop flew in briefly and he was also soaked. The eaglets flap their winds to dry them and it gets pretty crazy in the nest with them all flapping at the same time. Pop just came back and it looks like he is digging for buried food. I think they do bury uneaten fish or animals.
I have no plans for today except the usual Saturday cleaning and a load of laundry. I hope your Saturday is a little more interesting. It is very cloudy and we might get some more rain ( I hope) this morning. The northern parts of Iowa have had some heavier rains so since I will be going there Memorial Day I hope it is dry there.
I know Tracy will have some much needed time off for the holiday weekend and hope she can use a little of it for herself. She has been on the run every since Norma and Donald have been ill. I know she will take Donald to see Norma now that he is out of the hospital and getting around with walker or cane. Please keep the prayers going for Norma’s recovery. Norma we all miss you.
The coffee is ready to drink so I hope I can entice some of you to stop for a cup. There is also tea or cocoa and a variety of cold drinks in the fridge. It sounds like tomorrow everyone in the central US will want cold drinks. It is to be in the 90s. They are predicting the hottest day ever for the Indy 500. I have many friend in motorcycle racing who are in Springfield Illinois for the Grand National Championship Flattrack races tonight and Sunday. I wish I could be there too.
Come on in and sit a spell. What do you have planned for today and the weekend? Leave a message for Norma as Tracy will get all our messages to her.
What can I get you to drink?

To Norma and Donald, I think of you often and keep you close to my heart.
Been a very busy month here. At work I got my evaluation and it was fantastic! After the nightmare of last year it was such a relief that I cried for five minutes. I was also told that my desk will be moving again next year. They are moving me to the reception desk. I will still be assisting people in signing their kids in and out of school and I will be bringing an air of professionalism to the front desk area.
My two eldest children graduated college this month. The eldest boy receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation while daughter received her degree in History with Creative Writing as her minor. No jobs yet but they are working on that.
Six years ago my daughter was sexually attacked. The trial finally came up on the docket this month and a few days before it was to go to trial the man plead guilty and received ten years probation. He has several restrictions he has to live by including registering as a sex offender for the rest of his life. If he breaks probation he will go to prison and will face possible deportation.
We recently had state exit level testing for those in my youngest son's grade level. These tests are a big deal. If the student fails to pass levels before graduation next year, they will not graduate with their class nor receive a diploma. These tests have always been a big hurdle for my youngest as he does have a learning disability and does have a few minor modifications. The first of these tests was English.....his weakest area...and inadvertently, he was not given his accommodations for the test. BUT, he passed anyway!!! In fact, he passed all tests! Yea! Youngest is also busy meeting his requirements to make Eagle Scout before his eighteenth birthday in mid-July.
That is just the top highlights for the month.
I am elated that your evaluation was so good this year. I'm sure it made you feel good too. After last year I know you were feeling down. It only takes one bad evaluator to make one question why they are doing the job.
I personally think your daughter's attacker should have been deported. He got off too lightly.
