Romney to buddy up to Gingrich and Trump?

(CNN) – Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney will be joined in Las Vegas next week by two of his backers: former candidate Newt Gingrich and reality television star Donald Trump.  The event will take place Tuesday at Trump's International Hotel on the Strip. Romney's campaign is also raffling a chance to have dinner with Trump for supporters who donate to the campaign.

Really? Pal around with a guy who earlier this year spent weeks spouting Birther nonsense, and who is in fact simply a reality tv blowhard with no clue on effective public policy? Pal around with a guy who conducted a pointless primary campaign and ended up amassing millions in debt? There's a guy who can advise you on how to run the economy- Gingrich, yeah.  And who said some extremely harsh things about you only a month or so ago. Well, either he meant every word, in which this rapprochement is strictly for show, or he meant none of it, in which case he is a damn liar.

I realize that Republicans always circle the wagons, but this is ridiculous.  Okay, Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, so you have that in common. Beyond that, it's all crazy.
