I noticed this video asking, "Why does President Obama take so much credit for killing Bin Laden?"
Â
The description says: America knows who deserves the credit for killing Osama Bin Laden - United States Navy SEALs and the American intelligence community. Join with Veterans for a Strong America and let President Obama know who really deserves the credit.
Â
Â
Â
Then I found this information today:
Â
Judicial Watch, the organization that investigates and fights government corruption, announced today that it has obtained records from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) regarding meetings and communications between government agencies and Kathryn Bigelow, Academy Award-winning director of The Hurt Locker, and screenwriter Mark Boal. According to the records, the Obama Defense Department granted Bigelow and Boal access to a “planner, Operator and Commander of SEAL Team Six,†which was responsible for the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, to assist Bigelow prepare her upcoming feature film.
Â
The records, obtained pursuant to court order in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed on January 21, 2012, include 153 pages of records from the DOD and 113 pages of records from the CIA (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Defense (No. 1:12-cv-00049)). The documents were delivered to Judicial Watch late last Friday (May 18). . . .
Â
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote that the information leak was designed to help the Obama 2012 presidential reelection campaign: “The White House is also counting on the Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal big-screen version of the killing of Bin Laden to counter Obama’s growing reputation as ineffectual.

Â
There really has to be something wrong with this president. He has to know that this is wrong, doesn't he?
Â
In contrast, I've been reading George W. Bush's bookÂ
Decision Points. It's rare that President Bush said "I, I, I" when it came time to make sure credit went where it was due, especially in military matters. Have you ever heard Bush say, "I killed Sadam"?
Â
Â
**************
Â
Â
You know what else?
Â
There's this:
Â
...the memo doesn’t show a gutsy call. It doesn’t show a president willing to take the blame for a mission gone wrong. It shows a CYA maneuver by the White House.
Â
Â
Â
The memo puts all control in the hands of Admiral McRaven – the “timing, operational decision making and control†are all up to McRaven. So the notion that Obama and his team were walking through every stage of the operation is incorrect. The hero here was McRaven, not Obama. And had the mission gone wrong, McRaven surely would have been thrown under the bus.
Â
Â
Â
The memo is crystal clear on that point. It says that the decision has been made based solely on the “risk profile presented to the President.†If any other risks – no matter how minute – arose, they were “to be brought back to the President for his consideration.†This is ludicrous. It is wiggle room. It was Obama’s way of carving out space for himself in case the mission went bad. If it did, he’d say that there were additional risks of which he hadn’t been informed; he’d been kept in the dark by his military leaders.
Â
Â
Â
Finally, the memo is unclear on just what the mission is. Was it to capture Bin Laden or to kill him? The White House itself was unable to decide what the mission was in the hours after the Bin Laden kill, and actually switched its language. The memo shows why: McRaven was instructed to “get†Bin Laden, whatever that meant.
Â
Â
Â
President Obama made the right call to give the green light to the mission. But he did it in a way that he could shift the blame if things went wrong. Typical Obama. And typical of him to claim full credit for it, when he didn’t do anything but give a vague nod, while putting his top military officials at risk of taking the hit in case of a bad turn.

Â
And look at this. It's part of what one former Navy SEAL has to say:
Â
President Barack Hussein Obama – STOP using the Navy SEALS as a campaign ploy. Because with all due respect, (what little I have for you), you do NOT speak for me.
Â
You have a movie about SEALS within the past year trying to identify with me, with the navy SEALS, and with anything that might improve your polling numbers…and yet it is all a sham to hide a weak un-American man desperate to claim the victories of others for his own.
Â
You Sir are trying to take the credit for what the American People have achieved in killing Bin Laden. Your use of the SEALs accomplishment as a campaign slogan is nothing less than despicable. I, as a former Navy SEAL do not accept your taking credit for Osama Bin Laden’s death. The American Military accomplished that feat.
Â
Yet now that it is useful, you Mr. President, continue to refer to the event as if it were YOU and you alone which accomplished the worthy task of slaying one of America’s greatest enemies. You say “I directedâ€, “I Continuedâ€, “My Intelligence Communityâ€, “My national security teamâ€, “I determined that I had enough….â€, “My direction…â€
Â
Yet reliable sources continue to report that not only did you attempt to stop or delay Bin Laden’s demise, you did not even leave the golf course for the situation room until 20 minutes before SEAL Team 6 took out Osama Bin Laden. Even the clothes you wore in the situation room betray this fact. This is a Commander in Chief? A man who takes credit for actions largely taken while he was out golfing?
Â
We men who have taken the oath, say ENOUGH. You do not speak for me, a former Navy SEAL, or any one of the league of men whom I have earned the right to be among. You are simply a man running for an office. Yet you behave as a glory-hoarding ruler. You campaign to be our leader, yet in reality you wish to be our Master.
Â
The American people are the ones who got Bin Laden… You did Not! We have fought wars and slugged it with Vast Terror Organizations to get to the man you say YOU killed. The United Sates of America has won you a title sir and you have spent the last three years trying to beg, borrow and bow as you GIVE IT ALL AWAY. You just happened to be president of the USA when WE THE PEOPLE got Osama Bin Laden. We do not see you as heroic or stoic, we see you as the guy who let America Go. We got fat and weak and you gave it all away. That is your credit – you bow to foreign leaders and pander to the press. You do not represent me as a Military Man. You do not represent me as a SEAL. You do not represent me as an AMERICAN!
Â
You do not speak for me or any American military man because though you may now be Commander in Chief, you are not the man to whom we can point our sons and say “This is the American dream, this is American exceptionalism, this is what I wish for your futureâ€, because you Sir are NONE of these things. You Sir, are the antithesis of American Exceptionalism. Your idols are Saul Alinksi and Karl Marx and your revolutionary dreams and anti-American ideals poison your every policy. Your every action betrays the fact that in your soul you do not understand what it is to be an American, not what America truly is.

Â
We have a president who bows to foreign leaders, apologizes for America, and disrespects the military he "leads" as well as any citizen who disagrees with his policies. We have a president who works hard at dividing our country - by race, wealth, gender, and sexual orientation. And we have a president whose wife was also never proud to be an American before her husband became president.
Â
We have a president who values golf and vacation over American citizens.
Â
It's no wonder the cry has been "anyone but Obama!"

THEN, he gives of national security secrets to commie Hollywood. Aiding the enemy. TRAITOR!!
"The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq. The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate them."
I learned recently that Bush wrote personal letters to every family who lost a loved one in the wars. I cannot imagine Obama doing that....unless he found a way to make it benefit him.
Of course Obama being the narcisstic party animal, craves attention one way or another thing that he is, is also, spoke to the military(just on todays news) and he was at it again.. He was patting himself on the back again... something about we are on better terms with the Middle East than we ever have been.. I left most of it go in one ear and exit the other, because we all know that he is so much in love with himself, that I am amazed that he doesnt break out the mirror or picture of himself and start kissing it...
vickey, I saw that. The article I saw said "Obama is a legend in his own mind." How true!
There is still considerable reason to doubt Bin Laden was even killed in this raid. He had been reported to be suffering from a mortal disease for years. There were even reports that he was already dead.
But certainly if he was killed on Obama's order, the timing was excellent for Obama, since he could have expected that when Bin Laden got wind of Obama's anti-Israel speech, he could have expected an embarrassing new Bin Laden video applauding it.
And of course we never saw the body, which was mysteriously deep sixed at sea, nor photos of his corpse which allegedly exist but were never released due to the lame excuse that they would be too upsetting to some people.
There are also the extremely questionable circumstances under which 22 Seals from that unit were subsequently (consequently?) killed while flying in a Vietnam-era helicopter into an Afghani combat zone on the same course previously used in another attack.
Supposedly that was the first time so many Seals had ever been flown together in one aircraft. Did they know what REALLY happened? Had they been forced to lie about the raid and were silenced to keep the truth from coming out? Probably not, but the questions remain.
