Lauren Spierer has been missing for nearly a year and investigators are finally working on one of the only solid leads this case has appeared to get. However, they are not optimistic about a connection between Lauren and 54-year-old murderer William Clyde Gibson.
William Clyde Gibson is accused of murdering at least three women, but all three of them are substantially older than 21-year-old Lauren Spierer. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean he couldn't be connected at all as his alleged victims all vary greatly in age. One victim was in her 70's!
Detectives in Bloomington are still in the right for investigating this, although it appears that they've taken their time to do what could be done in a case like this. It also seems as though some evidence in the case is outright disregarded. For instance, the infamous white pickup truck caught on surveillance in the area of her disappearance. Enhanced versions of the image show shadows that do in fact resemble people. However, police have refused to even acknowledge such bits of what could be evidence.
