You may recall that in the first installment of "Robins under the eaves," I said I thought it was pain when a wren built a nest right above the door to the outside porch last year. Well, guess what?! That little wren is BAAAAaaaack! And now we have double trouble - both Mrs. Robin and Mrs. Wren have now teamed up to castigate us every freakin' time we go outside.
Here are the both of them complaining.

Mrs. Wren is quite a bit smaller than Mrs. Robin, but she still has a great set of lungs on her. She's in the lower right of the photo above.
Here is Mrs. Wren in a closer shot.

Mrs. Wren's nest appears impossible to photograph, and I have not figured out a way to get my camera up there properly. I may have to resort to using mirrors or something.
Anyway, back to the Robin family.
I truly think Mrs. Robin should start seriously cracking down on those late night parties the kids have been having lately!

Yep, that's a hangover if I ever saw one!

Now all I see is feathers, feathers, feathers!

Does this nest make our butts look big??

Time for a Beak Count! Let's see now,... 1... 2... 3... 4.... Yep, everyone accounted for!

Is it almost time to start jumping out of the nest yet?

Meanwhile, the Wren story is only starting! More to come. :-)

The last time I was at my brother's house in NC there was a family of robins nested in the ledge above the garage door (inside the garage, no dummies they!) and one morning we were treated to mama teaching the babies how to fly from the nest...it was a good half hour before all the kiddies flew the coop...
What was so funny was to see the hesitation on the kiddies part and the mom making encouraging noises and fly-bys.... One particular little one was so hesitant he kind of wore out his mom's patience...she chattered and trilled and would fly up there as if she was giving it a talking-to until it finally took the plunge...
