'The Game's' Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall Both...

Mel and Derwin, gone? Say it ain't so! Unfortunately, it is so. It's a sad, but true reality for the fans of the hit TV show, which leaves some to wonder how the show can go on without them?

The main characters of the hit tv series, The Game that airs on BET, have officially jumped ship, and won't be returning next season. Tia Mowry who plays Melanie on the show, took to Twitter Wednesday informing her fans of her departure from the show. However, there has been no reason stated as to why she made this decision, or who initiated it.

"Just wanted to let all my fans know that I will not be returning to The Game for season 6. It was an incredible run and I had lots of fun... I am looking forward to my upcoming projects... the release of my book #OhBaby."

Then today, Pooch Hall, who plays Melanie's husband Derwin, came with another devastating blow for fans, stating that he will not be returning to the show next season either. According to a statement released by BET, Hall is leaving the show so that he can pursue other acting opportunities, which is believed to be the new role that he's acquired on the Showtime pilot, Ray Donovan.

These surprising turn of events leaves fans wondering what will happen to the show with the two centerpieces missing. BET stated that it "is in the process of reworking the casting and storyline", and that their hopes are that both Mowry and Hall "will make several guest appearances" in the new season.

Gosh. I don't know. There is so much going on in this show, that their story line has almost gotten snuffed out. So, maybe the show can go on without them. I think that focus will shift more to Brandy's character and Jason. And I would love to see them do something with Malik and his 'rehab' girlfriend - I like the actress.

Mel and Derwin leaving "The Game". Might as well cancel the entire show. Each character on that show gives off chemistry from one another and to have two of the main characters leave regardless of the circumstance is a devastating blow to the entire cast. I wish all of them well and as for the rest of the cast I truly hope that the writers can recover the show with captivating story lines in other words that will have to pull a rabbit out of their hat!

I hope the writers are able to recover and make the show better, despite the changes. However, it just won't be "The Game" that some initially fell in love with. I am open to change though...sometimes change is good. Thanks for reading and commenting!
