One Direction's Zayn Malik can usually be seen taking a puff or three. Of the members in 1D, Zayn is the only one who has a serious smoking habit, as icky as that may be. He's been photographed several times with a lit cigarette between his fingers.
Unlike with the music he makes, people aren't a fan of his smoking. Now, Malik's received the challenge of a lifetime. It may even be harder than competing on The X Factor: UK. Non-profit organization ForgetTobbaco issued a statement on their website which reads, "Zayn - Just Quit Bro." Easier said then done, right?
Quitting cigarettes is one of the hardest things to do. It's not a simple process but a complex product created specially to cause addiction.
ForgetTobbaco also tried guilting the 19-year-old into quitting by stating, "Kids are 3X more likely to start smoking if they see a celebrity they think is cool smoking. That means millions of young kids may consider this habit because of you."
Zayn Malik has yet to reply to the challenge. In the end, it is his body and his choice. Of course, it's important to remember that like it or not he is a role model and his fans sign his paychecks. And, that most parents of those young fans do not support his smoking habit.
