The May 16, 2012 Powerball results are in! Are you one of the lottery winners? Wednesday's Powerball winning numbers are 3, 7, 21, 28, 43, and the Powerball number is 2. While no one won the jackpot last night, there are a number of $2,000,000 and $1,000,000 Powerball winners.
Powerball Lottery Winners May 16, 2012
Three (3) Match 5 + 0 Powerball winners purchased their lucky $2,000,000 tickets from the Colorado Lottery, Oklahoma Lottery and the Wisconsin Lottery. Another three (3) second-tier winners purchased their $1,000,000 winning tickets from the New Jersey Lottery, Wisconsin Lottery and the West Virginia Lottery.
The difference between the $2,000,000 Powerball Power Play winners and the $1,000,000 Powerball winners is just $1! Because they spent an extra dollar on the Power Play option, their decision paid off with an extra $1,000,000 in their pockets. You can bet the "poor" $1,000,000 winners will be buying Power Play tickets from now on!
In addition to the high-tier Powerball winners, there were also thirty-five (35) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. Each lottery winner matched four out of five white Powerball winning numbers, and the Powerball number for the third-tier prize. Luckily, four (4) of those winners were smart and purchased Power Play tickets which increased their prize winnings to $40,000 instead of the standard $10,000.
A total of 448,323 Powerball winners won lottery prizes worth between $4 and $2,000,000 on Wednesday. Total non-jackpot prizes amounted to $12,436,778. Are you one of the May 16, 2012 Powerball winners, and more importantly, how much did you win?
