Kate Middleton will soon be setting sail with the Queen as the Royal family participates in a lavish Diamond Jubilee celebration. On June 3, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will join the rest of the royal family as they sail down the River Thames in a formal ceremony that is expected to draw more than one million spectators.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will not be riding on the same ornately adorned 209-foot Royal Barge as the Queen, but will be in close proximity. Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, will be leading the 1,000 strong fleet on the 7-mile journey on their own 88-foot vessel. According to this site, the Prince will present the boat to the Queen at the end of the run as a gift for her 60th year on the throne.
Due to security restrictions, Will and Kate will have to travel on a separate boat from the Queen and Charles. In fact, the extended royal family is expected to use a total of four vessels for the event. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie along with their father, the Duke of York are expected to attend and will be joined by other members of the royal family.
Undoubtedly, the spectators will be more interested in whatever ship the popular young Royals are aboard than any other boat. Of course, Kate's attire will make headlines as well. The entire world will be interested in seeing what kind of outfit Kate Middleton will don for her little jaunt down the Thames. Will she go for a sporty look or will it be a formal event?
