Grey's Anatomy is prepared to air its season finale on Thursday night, and fans need to prepare themselves for the big death that has been teased in recent weeks by those involved in the show. A plane crash has half of the surgical staff grounded, and the other half are still at the hospital, and the way the cast tells it - anything can happen.
Sarah Drew, the actress behind April Kepner on the series, teased the finale herself recently, and she made it sound like a major event. This week's episode will kill one off, and there is no denying that. The finale for this season is promising to shock fans. Drew said the following about the episode, according to Wetpaint:
All I can say is that half of the cast is at the hospital, and half of the cast is involved in the event (the plane crash). But even the people who are left in the hospital, all of their stories are totally left with the potential that they're leaving. So it's not like anybody in either location is safer than anyone else. You're not going to see it coming. It's shock and awe. It's really jaw dropping!
April Kepner has her own issues to deal with as well. By failing the boards, her future is completely unknown. She doesn't have a job anywhere at this point, so this could lead to her also leaving the series. However, failing an exam doesn't always mean the end for a character on this series.
It has happened before to both Alex Karev, played by Justin Chambers, and George O'Malley, formerly played by T.R. Knight. They both failed, and they managed to stick around the hospital in order to retake their exams. Will the same happen here for April early on in season nine?
First off, fans need to find out who will die. Who do you have your money on to die in this year's finale?

Too much has been made of the plane crash, and with most of the cast already resigned for multi-year deals (Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers and others), I firmly believe that the plane crash was just a head-fake, and that an April Kepner suicide is far more likely.
In the past weeks she's failed her boards, lost all of her job offers for next year (not to mention what else she "lost"), and her current job at Seattle Grace. While I may be wrong (hey, its happened once or twice before), its not looking good for Dr. Kepner.
