The new Rock the Bells 2012 lineup for this year's concert was unveiled on Tuesday. Among the headlining acts on the bill for the annual hip hop festival are rappers Nas, J. Cole, Lupe Fiasco, and Wiz Khalifa. Several surprise reunions from legendary rap groups also make up the concert's attractions as well.
As reported by Crave Online, there was an official launch party held on Tuesday at House of Blues in Los Angeles. At that time, the full lineup of acts for Rock the Bells was announced. The official poster ad reveals a near who's who in hip hop legends as well as big up and coming acts. Those newcomers to the game include the likes of J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar. From the "old school" of rap, fans will be treated to Slick Rick, Naughty by Nature, Big Daddy Kane, and Salt N Pepa, among others.
There will also be two big reunions of legendary groups at this year's show. Actually three, if you count the assembly of Redman and Method Man to perform their full "Blackout" album. However, spotlighted on the ad are appearances by Bone Thugs N' Harmony, and The Hit Squad. The latter group will include Keith Murray, K Solo, Redman, and EPMD (Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith). Many fans will remember the classic group track "Head Banger" from these guys which is sure to rock the crowds at multiple venues. Not a bad way to attract fans to this year's music festival, and definitely a hot ticket for those who get it!
As of this report, there's August and September show's listed for San Bernardino and Mountain View, California, as well as Holmdel, New Jersey. A fourth show is listed for sometime in December in Miami, Florida. The Rock the Bells 2012 concert tickets go on pre-sale starting Friday, and with a lineup this big it won't be surprising to see tickets sell out fast!
