Where-o-Where game. I had a wonderful mother's day. Shawn made homemade donuts for breakfast. He gave me a nice top and bracelet. We had steak medallions and fried zucchuni for dinner and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
The day before the girls and I went and got haircuts while Shawn shopped for my mother's day present. We have so much going on this month there is a lot of last minute running. After haircuts the girls and I went to pick up a card for grandma. Yes, my own mother's day gift will be late. My dad called this morning and I told him the card was mailed off on Saturday.
On mother's day, I'm enjoying my day off really LOVED the food and Shawn said, we should clean my dad's coming in tomorrow. Not on your life it's my day, I'm not cleaning. We went out to see the Avengers but it was sold out so we brought home some icecream from Cold Stone and the girls and I enjoyed more delicious food and watched Say Yes to the Dress.
Monday after getting the girls off to school and Shawn off to work, I start cleaning: kitchen (check), bathrooms (check), living room (mostly checked). The girls had early release and we played several rounds of draw something together. Then Shawn came home early because he had his farewell girl scout leader's dinner to attend. No phone calls or unannounced guests showing up.
This morning two salesmen call and then my dad. No word from the in-laws. I told my dad Gretchen made it into the Honors class at middle school. He said, were there any doubts? I knew she had the grades but when you answer: My sister, Rachael, because she is in honors now and can tell me what to expect to the question - If you could talk to anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Her answer is so her though. She is always in the here and now. Why worry about things in the past or about someone who you will never know or meet, when there is plenty uncertainty right in front of you. And speaking of uncertainty it is now noon and I still have not heard a word from my in-laws. I may start taking bets on whether or not they are even in Phoenix now.
