Apple enthusiasts have long-awaited the iPhone 5 release date. Rumors and news about the 6th generation mobile handset have flooded the Internet for months, but unfortunately the gadget remains unconfirmed by Apple.
A new rumor hints at the a redesigned new iPhone making a splash at this year's WWDC in June. Apple lovers came out of the woodwork, so to say, to snap up entry tickets to the event, which sold out in just two hours.
A recent article states the Apple smartphone might make an appearance at the WWDC this year to get Apple back on track with their earlier release time-frames. It's expected the new handset will be a completely overhauled design, compared to earlier models, for the iPhone 5 release date.
More rumors state the new Apple smartphone may not have a home button. However, images have surfaced online showing part orders which suggest the handset may keep a home button, though redesigned.
Also, the Liquidmetal rumor has competition now, as another update states the long-awaited iOS 6 device may be made from Gorilla Glass, which can make for a much thinner smartphone than earlier models. The Liquidmetal design talk has continuously had varying views, but it's likely fans won't care as long as it's not just the same old design overall.
