Ron Paul calls it quits for his presidential bid to be president of the United States. The reason he gave was simply money. The Ron Paul campaign has devoted followers, but it seems that their devotion does not mean money.
The campaign is broke! So will Ron Paul followers move to Mitt Romney? It is not likely as many are still carrying on the good fight. Ron Paul is a Libertarian and not really a Republican, so his devotees may not make the slide over to Mitt Romney.
Also, Ron Paul is still collecting delegates. There is a big divide among Mitt Romney and Ron Paul loyal folks. In the end the main cause they have in common is a desire to rid the country of Obama. Will that be enough to translate into votes for Romney? Some will just stay home and sit out the election, but that is a waste and gains them nothing but the pouty prize. We'll see!

Either way, as it has been for awhile now, the race is very
But this year, I'm putting Israel first. That dismisses President Obama as well as Ron Paul.
Obama has been in office for over three years now. When did we stop helping Israel?
Of course the Prime Minister brought all out in the open when it was his time to talk and let it be known that only Israel will make decisions for Israel. President Obama said they should go back to the borders before the 67 war. No they shouldn't. Who is he to change things? They took th lands where armies were gathered to wipe them out. That land, according to war rules is rightfully theirs.
I actually love to Watch President Obama when PM talks to him because it is SO HARD for PO to even look at, or respond to him.
I believe Obama is a Muslim at heart and badly dislikes the Jews.
I love to watch him when the subject of Jews comes up.
Israel seems to be doing all right. Have we stopped our aid? Have we encouraged attacks on Israel?
I have no problem with polygyny nor with polyandry for that matter. So I don't mind if Romney does something which makes both of those legal. I don't mind "group marriage" either. Whatever works for folks is fine with me.
How has Paul's racism (which most of us have to one degree or another) influenced his actions as an elected official?
Everybody isn't crazy that disagrees with you Dan.
"Now it's all Mitt's.. the only real choice from the beginning of this insane race."
No, he wasn't the only REAL choice from the beginning. You not liking the other candidates didn't affect their value at all. Insane race? Why call it that? Good, and better men than many people did their best to share idea's.
"And then to have his 'followers' think he's right on things they have no idea of!!!"
Dan, you have a very high opinion of yourself and scabby low opinion of other that aren't just like you. How come?
It is not true that he is broke. He has money, but he will now choose to spend it to gather delegates in caucus states. Ron Paul is very judicious with what money he has. He will not be getting endless amounts from Goldman Sachs, where Obama and Romney have gotten so much.
Ron Paul does not say he can control his supporters. The comments on sites where his supporters write in back this up.
There is video evidence of fraud in some of the states. Whether anything will come of it is unclear.
If the Republican party as a group is unable to offer a candidate who can discuss the substantive and urgent issues as Ron Paul does, then a substantial element of the electorate will leave the mass media and seek substantive discussion where they can find it.
Gary Johnson and Ron Paul have quite a bit in common, and I think they will cooperate if Tampa yields no progress on busting the banks and stopping the flow of U.S. resources off-shore.
It is conceivable no candidate will get a majority, unless the Republicans nominate Ron Paul.
I am concerned that Rand Paul was the only senator willing to stand up to war-picking by AIPAC. AIPAC is losing popular support among its own base, but congress seems to be late in catching on to this. It does not seem the congress follows Israeli divergence in opinion either. It is no wonder what low regard congress gets in polling.
I think it possible there will be more who will stand up against war-mongering in the House. Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich used to do the frequently. We will see if there are any brave reps beyond Ron Paul as the news progresses today.
He still has quite a lot of money, in ordinary-person terms, and that will be used in caucuses where his supporters can work together.
The verbal abuse from old media will no doubt continue, but in some ways that can be advantageous in the same way that friends of the Amish stick up for the Amish when the government moves to confiscate their dairy products.
I hear your hostility. I don't understand the why of it.
I have observed in my long life that sometimes persons who are gentle generate great hostility from persons who are not.
People who want war have reasons to put down Ron Paul, and there is a ready market for that kind of writing in the old media.
