KING OF PAINE—LARRY KAHN
Frank Paine is a former actor who has joined the ranks of the FBI. He is assigned to the cyber squad to investigate a rape by proxy which will reconnect him with a former flame. Enter Roger Martin, a has been journalist battling guilt and alcoholic demons and needs to regain his former success. He starts to delve into a story of missing terminally ill and very wealthy people. Hoping that this will garner a Pulitzer award he gets mixed up in the whole mystery very much connected to Frank’s case. The parallel plots intertwine with each other creating exciting twists and turns through the story. As in most good suspense stories the bodies pile up as fast as the suspect list grows. Mr. Kahn has written a riveting tale that explores some very controversial topics such as assisted suicide and the world of bondage, domination and sadomasochism. This was a very unique story which I thoroughly enjoyed. I wonder what kind of research the author had to do for this book. I give this story 5 gold stars. If you like a unique plot, I highly recommend THE KING OF PAINE.
