A couple weeks ago I looked up how to publish my lyrics. I found this company called Paramount I think. Believe it or not they loved them. But here was the catch, I had to pay them for a vocalist and a band. The price depended on how big I wanted to go. They sent me a contract and everything to make it official along with the notice that all they'll do is make a demo and send it to me. To get it out to music companies is my job. No garentee that I'll actually get another artist to sing my song.
I don't know if I should really do this or not. It sounds too good to be true and we all know what they say about those situations. My parents say because they want the money upfront it's a scam but my husband and my instict is that it isn't a scam but something I'm just supposed to do. Kind of like paying your dues to make it big. I'm in need of other opinions now. And please keep in mind right now neither me nor my husband have a job right now.

In the writing business, any time you have to put up money -- you're probably going to get screwed. The one thing I'm sure of is that, if they sent you a contract, scrape together the money somehow to have a lawyer look at it.
some literary opportunities
Lee Mac's Ozark opry has a few nights a year called "talent night" for aspiring singers, and song writers, etc.
One time, I forgot the next "step" or part of the number, and I was starting to freeze up.
MY "partner" was following my lead, and if the "choreographer" didnt step into sight, and give hand signals, we would have been standing on stage doing nothing, until I remembered the rest of the routine.
