This weekend, Kristen Stewart was called out by the Fashion Police for an offense made at the Met Gala. The face of Balenciaga did her job and wore the designer from neck to toe, but was that a good idea?
Not so much according to some of the E! Entertainment style arbiters.
No surprise that Joan Rivers was very vocal about her color-blocked, animal-print dress (seen here), but perhaps what she said was just a way to get in a joke. The leader of the Joan Rangers said KStew, in this particular frock, looked as if she was wearing a lizard who had been "swallowed by one of Bill Cosby's old sweaters." Or something like that.
Rivers got a laugh before George K said he liked the dress because not only did the garment "looks like modern art", which is what the Met Ball is all about, but that this Balenciaga number "goes with Kristen's style."
Meanwhile, another member of the Fashion Police who will remain nameless suggested this was the wrong event for this particular outfit, saying "This is the Met Gala, not the Met Barbecue."
While the dress didn't fare so well with this bunch, this Balenciaga design did far better than the shoes KStew wore, also by Balenciaga.
Indeed, the 22-year-old actress had donned a pair of lace up heels that looked out of place with the dress.
Giuliana Rancic said that these shoes with their thick white laces made it look as if Kristen Stewart's feet had "gone crazy" and were, consequently, "all bandaged up." So, it was the straight jacket effect that had this member of the Fashion Police complaining instead of complimenting this look.
All that said, what do you think? Was Kristen Stewart on point for the Met Gala? Did the Fashion Police have valid points about what was wrong and what was right with her outfit for this Costume Institute Ball? Thoughts? Thanks.
