House season 8 continues to head towards its series finale, and the next episode is 21, "Holding On." What's coming up for Wilson? What brings Thirteen back? How is the team going to be different down a member?
Season 8 Episode 21 "Holding On" Clips
The ending of the last episode was ominous for Wilson's future, and this episode is going to show that he doesn't have much longer (but neither does the show). However, House isn't quite ready to say goodbye to his best friend. Ultimately, it's not his decision. Will he be able to change Wilson's mind?
In the first "Holding On" sneak peek (below), Wilson goes to House's to tell him that he's not doing any more chemo. That leads to House's "Good plan. You'll be dead in five months." That's not his decision to make though, and Wilson's thought this through: "Five more months on this earth is reasonable. A year in the hospital in excruciating pain is...not." They had hoped their previous plan would help him, but it didn't. Wilson knows what he would be going through with each option, and he's made the one he thinks is best for him. However, that doesn't mean that House is just going to sit by and let this happen.
In fact, in the second House season 8 episode 21 clip (below), he's very focused on Wilson, not on the patient Taub, Adams, and Park are trying to tell him about. Things are changing ("Wilson is dying, Chase is gone. How close to normal do you think we can come?"), and House isn't just going to forget that. Adams defends Wilson's choice and tells House he can just choose between acceptance and misery. This is up to Wilson. However, this is House you're talking about. He's not just going to let this go.
The third sneak peek (below) shows Taub and Adams visiting their patient's (smoke-filled) room to hopefully find clues. His roommate isn't exactly in any condition to help them except to tell them Derrick doesn't party and to chime in with "Woah, creepy," when Adams finds a photo of a young boy in Derrick's sock drawer. It's likely this is his dead brother whose voice he's going to be hearing his head.
