1000 POINTS TODAY!

I have finally gotten to 1000 points.

It might not be a big deal to some, but in my last monthly Gather Point Statement delivered to my e-mail I noticed that I had been awarded the sum of 27 points for April 2012.  I had never paid much attention to that point statement before, but this time I was curious so I peeked.  This is LESS than an average of 1 point per day.  I got out my little calculator and I figure it will take me  will take me 20.9 MONTHS to be able to cash out for a $25 dollar gift card! I can not imagine how long it might take me if the Gather Gods in their infinite wisdom decide to slow point awards even more!

It really shows you that you can't count on Gather points to make a living! But, we all struggle along as best we can! I'm going for another gift card, too, and it will take me several more months, I'm sure.

My first gift card for $10 took me over 4 years but I wasn't really active then. Now that I am more active, it appears that my second card is going to take at least two years. Obviously I don't do this for the points but they have started to pick up this past week.

I last cashed out on 3/09/2009 and had waited a while after I was eligible. That is the ONLY time I have cashed out since I have been a member! I do not do Gather for the points I have made many varied and wonderful friends from all around the world - priceless!

Wow......this is why I no longer count on Gather for my "major" earners.........it's one of the very, very slowest, but, thankfully, I have some other great earners, like Swagbucks, MyPoints, and then have 3 bank account rewards programs.........they are all great.........I don't count on points here, but the many close friendships I've made here!

Gather is the only place on the web I visit that rewards my patronage......the friend I have made here are what count the most!

I come to Gather to see what my friends have got to say. I think my point is that if I were here only for the points or gift cards earned, here is not a place I would waste my time with! I value my Gather friends too much to just leave, take a break once in a while perhaps, but never just leave!

Gather is like a little cushion to get some extra spending $ but not to really make bank. I just like it here and the people I have come to know.

I last cashed out on 3/09/2009 that was around 36 months ago, add 20 or so more months from today and we are into January of 2014. I have only cashed out once since I became a Gather member, I do not do Gather for the points I have made many varied and wonderful friends from all around the world - priceless!
