Prince William may be following his father's footsteps to the throne, but there is one thing he will most likely never do. Unlike his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, William is not the kind of guy to air his dirty laundry in the media. His parents revealed some of the disturbing details of their own marriage and he is not likely to ever do the same.
William and Kate Middleton are constantly in the press, but it is rarely stories based on actual interviews or quotes the couple have given. In fact, most of the stories are based on so-called insiders (or in this case, biographers), who claim to know some of the most intimate details of the royal couple.
Penny Junor has written a book about the Duke of Cambridge and explains, "His role model is actually the Queen who is also intensely private." Queen Elizabeth has somewhat of an icy reputation, but it is only because she refuses to talk about herself.
Junor says, "He saw what happened when his parents talked about their private life and it's a form of self-protection." In many ways, William and Harry are the ones who have been forced to deal with the fallout of their parents' loose lips.
The author insists Prince William will be a very dedicated king and will give everything he has, but he will keep one thing for himself. "He won't give his soul...and that's what Prince Charles gave away." If by some chance Kate and Will's marriage fails, the heir to the throne will likely follow his grandmother's stodgy personality and keep his personal grievances to himself. In the meantime, he will closely guard and protect Kate and their relationship.
