Do we as a country really want Sharia law?

I think not, as he who has the most money 80% of the time is who is elected.

As one religion like the Islam in reality is basically no different than any other religion I think the whole idea of any religion in politics in the USA is stupid.

Well, we are supposed to have a separation of church and state. That said, recent political developments show us that some people, in the name of religion, will try to influence politics but while that will make quite a squack, it is not likely to have a long-term impact. Now we just have to find a way to minimize the short-term thorn patches.

I live in North Carolina. I am not eligible for any public office in this state because I am agnostic. That's in the North Carolina constitution. Therefore, we do have religion built into our politics.

It's the state doing it, not the federal government.

Please keep in mind that the law and the Constitution do not protect us from oppression.
