Robert Pattinson Man-Crushing on Brad Pitt?...

In a recent interview, Robert Pattinson revealed a major man-crush on Brad Pitt. An interviewer mentioned that Angelina Jolie's fiancÃ© was once regarded in much the same way Rob is perceived today by some of his more biased critics--that is, as just "a pretty face." At the mention of Brad's name, Rob launched into an enthusiastic tribute to the Moneyball star. La Jolie probably couldn't have done better.

"...Brad Pitt is to me, one of the most unfairly underestimated actors in the world," Rob gushed--er--opined. "It's not said enough but he never delivered a bad performance. Nowadays, no one wants to make drama for adults because people say no one is going to see them. No one. Except Brad Pitt. It's how you make a career last. We still see those kind of movies in the world of independent movies, but those dramas, held by stars have almost disappeared. It must be because those stars lost their part of mystery."

Obviously Mr. Pitt hasn't lost any mystery for Rob. His rambling worshipful praise almost borders on obsession. Interestingly, the interviewer also mentioned Dark Shadows star and Brangelina buddy, Johnny Depp, in the same context, but Rob totally ignored the reference. It was almost as if he hadn't heard him. Of course that might be partly because Depp recently dissed the Twilight franchise and by association, RPattz and his leading lady/girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. Not to mention the fact that Johnny Depp may be many things, but a pretty face isn't one of them.

Speaking of Kristen Stewart, what makes Rob's obvious man-crush on Brad Pitt even more intriguing is that Kristen Stewart has often seemed obsessed with Angelina Jolie. If not exactly obsessed, KStew has admitted that she looks up to the In the Land of Blood and Honey director as her ultimate role model. Yikes, does that mean that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are the new Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Is Robsten morphing into Brangelina?

Please. What Rob said about Pitt was kind, why do you have to turn in into a negative word like "obsession?" And what Depp said about Twilight ticked me off...please, I'd never replay any Depp movie (though I enjoy his work) a fraction of what I replay Rob movies and that includes Twilight!! In addition, I'd never run to a movie theatre to see a Depp movie as fast as I run to see a Pattinson movie. Robert you are the new Brad Pitt.

Can I just say that I tried to watch one of the Twilight movies today. I think my problem is with the acting. I just can't imagine the female lead is being paid real money just to do facial contortions and grunts she puts forth with very few words emanating from her mouth. The male character (white face, red lips) was equal to the female lead with all facial contortions, no words emanating. Is there a story behind this show? Someone clue me in.

@Deidre: If you got stuck watching Eclipse then perhaps you got ripped cause that was sort of weak. However, if you watch the first Twilight you may see what it's all about because the director, camera effects, and dialogue is better than the other movies in the saga. It's really a story about unconditional love & acceptance. The idea of having the incredibly beautiful but lonely - nice guy- vampire in love with this average looking but open hearted sweet girl is something many of us women (and I'm over 30) wish for, minus the vampire part of course. The author manages to make Edward very alluring and likeable and so is Bella. I know it's getting ripped alot now that the hype is over and people are moving on, but it's still a good movie. Check it out on DVD, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Velvet let me say right off I love vampire books and movies (the real ones) but this female lead in this series is so lacking in everything. It really does cry out to me since I see all these great actors throughout the movie but when the lackluster Bella takes the screen my interest drops to the floor. Story aside, this girl just doesn't cut the mustard. She emotes zero in every scene. Am I nuts for being the only one to see this? She is an awful actor and I just can't see past her lackluster acting skills. If Kirsten Dunst or Christina Ricci were cast as Bella I would find it better. The current girl just makes facial contortions and grunts.
