Well I am glad to say Derfels surgery went well. We hit a horrible rain storm on our way and made it there right at 5pm. We pulled up in front of the Animal Hospital I turned the car off and out the front door comes a young lady crying her eyes out carrying a small box. She rain to her car like a flash. My son and I just looked at one another as he grabbed Derfels little carrying cage from the backseat and we proceeded in.
The room was nice and there were a couple people with their pets. A cat a bull dog and in comes two hamsters and a couple dogs. It wasn't long until the Dr came in and introduced himself and went around and checked each animal and then started calling them back for whatever they needed. When it was Derfels turn I told my son I can't go back I'm sorry. It seemed like they was back there forever but about a half hour later here they came and my son was grinning ear to ear. Derfel was all doped up so wasn't phased at this point.
We got home and I put a blanket down on the floor for him and he just collapsed and went to sleep. He'd wake up every so often but was very groggy. He has about a inch and a half inch cut that the stitched, stapled and glued. OUCH!
This morning he wasn't so active but yet he did still stand up on it and took a few steps. I took him out of his cage and he has had the living room floor to himself all day. He wakes up and drinks and eats a little then back under his blanket.
I don't think we have to worry about mersa but the tumor was very large. I so wish we had got him in sooner but just glad a angel intervened and got us the help when we she did. Thank you so much Barb Carlson and everyone please continue to pray for her and her son and family while he recovers.
Tuesday we go back to have the staples removed.
Thank You for viewing my post.
