Living Below the Line $1.50 a Day Challenge Day 1
Day 2:
Carnation Instant breakfast with 1 cup of milk .4835
13.5 oz Dr. Pepper .15
2 oz. potato salad .1250
1/2 cup white chocolate pudding .1688
1/2 banana .09
hard boiled egg .0833
1 cup Kool-Aid .03
1/2 Totinos pizza .68
Notes:
Lunch was hard for me. I cut up the hard boiled egg and mixed it in with the potato salad. I felt full only half way through it. I then sliced up the half of banana into the pudding. I felt so full but managed to eat it all. (I had also brought along 2 oz of macaroni salad but didn't choose to eat it). I'm not sure why I just felt so full.
I drank on the Dr. Pepper from 10 am to 2 pm.
Hubby, sweetheart that is he (LOL) brought home 3 Totinos pizzas to smoke in the smoker for supper. Oh my! It's good that I was below the max last night as I went over the $1.50 today. There was no way that I was giving up smoked pizza. He did the best he could price wise buying the cheap pizzas, in hopes that I could at least have some. I could have had like 1/3 but I chose to eat half of one.
My total for today was $1.9106
Yesterday was $1.1731
for a total of $3.0837 for the 2 days. I am the .0837 over the $1.50 per day now, but I'm sure I can make up for that tomorrow.
You can also see that I ate a whole lot better today than I did yesterday.

I'm already learning with this challenge and hubby is learning too.
We've not had a lot of money to spend on food it seems lately except we did shop at Aldi with some of the income tax refund.
This challenge is a bit easier for me because I already don't eat a lot.
I'm trying to eat less. But when I get extra money I buy on sale and keep the pantry full for two reasons... one when we have a disaster, there is always food and two if someone says they need help, I have enough to share.
I spend about 200 bucks a month on groceries. So that averages out to 50 bucks a piece for a family of four in my household. That is the best I can do.
