'The Voice': Juliet Simms Free as a Bird during Solo Performance

May 08, 2012 08:30 AM UTC (Updated: May 08, 2012 11:05 AM UTC)

Last night on The Voice, Team Cee Lo's last performer standing, and solo female artist in the overall competition, had her final chance to lure America in with one last performance. A strong contender from the get go, rocker gal Juliet Simms has managed to reach this pivotal point with determination and grit, so it came as no surprise that nothing was going to stop her from pouring her heart into her performance in an attempt to take this all the way.

Despite feeling under the weather, Simms wowed with her final song pick, Lynyrd Skinner's Freebird. Simms is definitely one bird who cannot change, but who would want this talented vocalist to change? Wearing a Stevie Nicks-like long red gown and sporting a different hair color, Simms belted out the Lynyrd Skinner tune and managed to generate an enthusiastic response from the audience as usual. Cee Lo Green seemed to have tears in his eyes at one point.

Adam Levine weighed in on her performance first stating, "What you do is so incredible. I have no grit in my voice. You have all of it." He concluded his comments by adding that no one sings like her. "You're incredible and you're beautiful." Coach Christina Aguilera was up next telling Simms she loved that song, loved what she's wearing and felt connected to her because they both had to perform feeling sick.

Coach Cee Lo Green was a man of few words last night when called upon to comment on his little electric guitar. He simply said, "With Juliet Simms on my team, I have no problems." Cee Lo had the custom Tee emblazoned with the words "No Problems" to prove that and it seemed as though Juliet Simms got a big kick out of his sentiments. If you missed her performance last night, take a look at it here in this NBC video Clip.
