House season 8 is coming to an end—and so is the show. Episode 21, "Holding On," next week is the last new episodes before the series finale, and Olivia Wilde is making her return as Thirteen.
Season 8 Episode 21 "Holding On" Promo
"Former Princeton Plainsboro colleague Thirteen (guest star Olivia Wilde) returns in an all-new episode. The team takes on the case of Derrick (guest star Skylar Astin), a 19-year-old college student who had a mysterious nose bleed during cheerleading practice, and discovers that his health issues are likely both physiological and psychological. Possibly suffering from schizophrenia, Derrick claims to hear his deceased brother's voice in his head. Meanwhile, Foreman (Omar Epps) tries a different approach with House."
House is almost over, but the series is planning to go out on a high note. This next episode is going to have an intriguing case and a blast from the past with Olivia Wilde's return. How will everyone react to her being back?
The House season 8 episode 21 promo for "Holding On" (below) shows Derrick explaining that his brother has been dead for nearly 10 years, and Adams asks if his voice is the one he hears in his head. The episode synopsis already provides that answer. This is going to be one wild case, as there's what appears to be some sort of flood and even a ceiling collapsing on Adams, Park, and Derrick. The promo ends with House yelling at Derrick to "stay alive."
The preview also shows Thirteen making another appearance with "the prodigal daughter returns." It's good to see her back, and House couldn't have ended without some returns from familiar faces. Olivia Wilde isn't the last, and the series finale is slated to feature some more.
